A Writing Competition

A Writing Competition

Writers based in Falkirk or originally from the town are invited to submit their poetry, short stories to be considered for the inaugural [Untitled] Writing Competition. The editor of [Untitled] will select the top five entries from all categories, the winning writers will be announced in June 2015. We are looking for high quality, original and imaginative writing that reflects or compliments the town and people of Falkirk.  All entries should be no more than 500 words, there is no specific theme. Writers are welcome to submit up to three pieces of writing but only one will be put forward for selection.

The five winning writers will then hand their words over to the wonderful people at Falkirk Folk Club who will then create original and exciting music to accompany the winning entries. The winning writers will be invited to perform their writing at a live event to be held in Falkirk over the summer, in which Falkirk Folk Club will reveal their final songs.

To submit your work please send a Microsoft Word Document or a PDF by email to untitledfalkirk@gmail.com with the subject line Writing Competition 2015

Due to the high amount of submissions that we receive we will only be able to get in contact with the winning writers and are we are unable to provide any feedback.

  1. You're not a professor unless you complain about students' inabilities to write. If you think they can write, that just shows how much you know about writing. What if you could relax instead of writing research paper?
